Federation Commander (FC) is a great game in its own right. In many ways Star Fleet Battles (SFB) is also great, but they seem to excel in different areas. FC gives more of a "you are the Captain" feel, while SFB is very much a simulator where you are the captain, science officer, doctor and engineer all at once. FC plays quickly enough to get an entire game done in about three or four hours. The game has two "scales" and they are "squadron scale" and "fleet scale". Squadron scale is intended for smaller engagements (1-on-1 up to about six ships), and fleet scale is anything larger. Either one can be used depending on time/

• End of the Summer Update

  I have been busy since the end of the BABE Rally. First there was all the extra training for my trip to China and then there was the trip itself and recovery. I am sad to say that since my younger son is playing football this fall I still don't have all the time I would like to dedicate to this site. But in other ways it is good for me to be so involved in my son's activities.

• May 2007 Updates

  Well I was making some updates. I wanted to add a gallery and MaxiGallery seemed to fit the bill. While working on it I discovered the search functions were not working. I had to disable the friendly URLs to get them both to work. At least they are functional. When I get back from the BABE rally I'll see if I can fix it so that everything works with the friendly URLs.

• New Theme
  I have changed up the theme and I think I will be sticking with this two column layout for the site. The pervious three column layout just didn't seem to fit what I was looking for.
