Welcome to Wakemen.com. This is the electronic home of Jim Wakemen and a place where I share my views on some fairly eclectic stuff. They are of course things I am interested in. However this is not a blog. Don't expect daily or weekly updates. I am also posting information here like my Game Reviews that do not really fit into what most people like in a blog. There is also a photo gallery where I will post important or interesting photos that I have taken. I am treating it like my own personal art gallery and family photo album. I also have sections on road rallies, tai-ji and as I begin work on my car for the new endevor: racing from autocross to trackdays to wheel to wheel racing as I progress through the sport. Perhaps my China trip will grow into a section on travel.

2007 BABE Rally
Jim and Jeff are off on an adventure, the BABE Rally. The rally pits teams from all over the country in a contest in cars that cost no more than $250. The course will run from Staten Island in New York City to the French Quarter in New Orleans.Our wonderful car is a

A fun, dark, night on a brisk dirt rally...
The next rally will be the Pine Barrens Express (PBX). A night time rally in the NJ Pinelands. Mostly sand and dirt roads (watch out for the deep stuff). November 18, 2006.

2006 Mini-Con
The mini-con will be held on Nov 10-12 at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center, in Cherry Hill, NJ. On-line registration is available (as well as more info) at 2006 Mini-Con.
If you have never attended a mini-con or roundtable, this is the chance. See some of the inner workings of our Division of SCCA. Learn about the different specialties (through meetings with the chiefs), learn about driving Watkins Glen (from the Glen Region Chief Instructor). Enjoy a nice dinner, and meet lots of the folks who work behind the scenes so our region can have all that fun!
End of the Summer Update
I have been busy since the end of the BABE Rally. First there was all the extra training for my trip to China and then there was the trip itself and recovery. I am sad to say that since my younger son is playing football this fall I still don't have all the time I woulMay 2007 Updates
