Kung Fu Fighting
Kung Fu Fighting by Slugfest Games
Ok so I bought this game on impulse and I have yet to play it, so I cant say much except for the fact I like the artwork and the rules seem solid. It has the right feel of the over-the-top Kung Fu movies I used to watch on Saturdays after the monster movie of the week (or was that before?). Either way it looks like fun and I have to say that rules seem easier than "Lunch Money" as well. National Games Week is coming up and I have to say that I think I'll have to get a game in soon.
Check out the reviews at Board Game Geek. My expectations and impressions seem well founded and close to the mark. I'll have to play a few games before passing final judgement on the game.
Update 1
I did play it once last night with the kids and it went really well. They both understood the concept and rules quickly and had a blast fighting each other. They were even taking the stances at the table. The only rule that they tripped over was that they wanted to add duplicate enhancements once. I guess the quick explanation of the rules was not enough. The discarding and drawing of cards at the beginning of your turn seems backwards to me, but it works fine.Update 2
After a few more plays the game does work very well. It is easy enough to play and the fighting is quick and can swing rapidly from one side to the other. I would like to see some more balance with the attacks vs. defenses. There seem to be too few blocks. I would alos like to see some more counterattacks in the game too. The bottom line is the game is fun and easy to play. It is worth the money I spent.Links
